Hi there ! My name is Vrushali and I’m from India. I am working in University of Milano-Bicocca, Dept of Material Science and Nanotech,Italy for the first half of my research work. Then i will be in Côte d’Azur University, Nice France.

These pictures reflect the values that shape me as a person and as a researcher ! My sweet pet Saiee taught me empathy, care and patience. Then this landscape from my hometown is my beloved, it keeps me grounded and connected to my roots. I walk there with saiee to watch peaceful sunsets. And my favorite dish here, PavBhaji which is spicy reflects my love for cooking, simple joys and balance in life !! Together, they express my curiosity, love for exploring life and connection with nature.
Glass That Glows to Track Radiation—Real-Time Dosimetry for Cancer Therapy ! My research focuses on the development of rare-earth doped scintillating glasses for real-time radiation dosimetry, where scintillation emission is generated immediately upon exposure to ionizing radiation. The work involves designing and optimizing borophosphosilicate and silicate glass compositions doped with ions such as Terbium and Europium, followed by systematic characterization under X-ray and gamma-ray irradiation to assess scintillation yield, stability, and repeatability. The optimized scintillating glass is then integrated with an optical fiber and photodetector system to develop a compact and portable dosimetry prototype, which will be validated under clinically relevant radiation beams for real-time dose monitoring. Why it matters ? FLASH therapy delivers ultra-high dose radiation in milliseconds, where conventional dosimeters struggle to provide fast feedback. So a scintillating glass-based sensor could enable instant dose tracking, improving treatment safety and accuracy. Goal: To create a fast and reliable dosimetry tool that can keep up with ultra-high dose rate treatments and improve safety and precision in radiotherapy. ⚡💡🩺
